Our Story

Welcome to Barlow Roots Farm

Our journey began in 2019 when we planted our first garlic crop, marking the start of our small business. The roots of our farm run deep, quite literally, as Bruce’s late father poured the concrete foundation of our home. His Aunt and Uncle built the home, raising chickens and owning a successful tree farm. We are grateful to have returned the farm to our family, continuing a legacy with love and dedication. Since purchasing the property, we’ve introduced pigs, chickens, fruit trees, vegetable gardens, herbs and, of course, garlic. Even though we are first-generation farmers, both of our grandparents had farms and orchards in the Kootenays, which instilled respect and passion for growing quality food.
